I like that convertible idea as well, but that tacks on $$$. If you're willing to spend more, there are those options available.

No beer holder?!? Pass...j/k

I like the idea of this blending a traditional PC with a tablet, I just wish it would flip the screen on top of the keyboard so I could use it as a true tablet. The other limiting factors mentioned in the Cons is not something I would want in a modern laptop, thus I wouldn't want that in hybrid if I could help it. Hopefully Asus learns from this and endeavors to make this a great product instead of just a good one while maintaining it's low price point.

Thanks for the nice comments!

There are some laptops that look "meh" but perform good, and then there are those that look good and perform "meh". I'm just glad that there is a choice in the market, and not all vendors have to sway in one direction more than another. I've been using this notebook for over a month now and I'm completely satisfied with it. Alas, the time has come for me to pack it up and send it back!

Very objective review of this laptop! SO tired of reading reviews which make senseless comparisons and harp on about its performance with 3D graphics. I have had the machine for a week now and been very impressed- in terms of value for money I dont think I have ever done better. I am coming to terms with Win 8 and love the touchscreen. Performance is perfectly adequate for lesser mortals and it handles all the things I (and probably 80% of the world) do easily. The quality feel of this laptop is incredible and friends cannot believe what it cost. I think Asus has got it right with this one.
