The gaming market isn't lacking of quality headsets, but it is lacking of any that seem to do anything unique. Psyko Audio looks to break that mold, by delivering a 5.1 gaming headset that defies convention. The speakers aren't in the earcups, but rather the headband, and that results in quite an interesting aural experience.
You can read Robert's full look at Psyko's headset and then discuss it here!

Nice looking set although having sounds shot directly into your skull? My pea brain rattles enough as it is. What a price tag though.

The price is laughable but the author does a good job making the point that for those that spend half a grand on a GPU, the cost of these shouldn't be that big of a hit.
It's an interesting approach to audio distribution and I know Rob and I were excited to spend some time with them at CES a few years ago. For those that can afford these, they will certainly set you apart from the other gamers at your next LAN party. Solid review.

To be honest, these no longer look that good to me after reading this review, haha. For hardcore gamers, sure, I guess it has its use, but when it can't do OTHER things that well, it's kind of a turn-off. For $300, you can get a sweet set of Beyerdynamic cans or something that will be well-rounded for any purpose. Or Ultrasone for that matter (and yeah, I guess Sennheiser).
That said, I do find the design of these to be incredibly interesting, and I give Psyko credit for that. But for $300, that's a very hard price tag to stomach. It's not as though extreme engineering went into each one of the drivers... just the placement of them it seems.
