The latest Apple TV media streamer is here, and unlike the original that launched in 2007, this one has a lot of competition. It features a super-small frame, fantastic iTunes movie rental and Netflix support, a clean-looking and smooth-operating interface and overall good performance. But can Apple's latest compete with the established competition?

The major hit I have against this is the lack of DLNA. I have gotten quite spoiled with my PS3 and 360, being able to stream my media from across the network. I'm still waiting on my Roku XDS to arrive and while it lacks DLNA support now, they have promised to work on that before the end of the year so I hold out hope that it it will appear in a firmware update soon.
