We posted yesterday that the second-generation unlocked Moto G had begun receiving the Lollipop 5.0 upgrade, and we couldn’t help but wonder when the roll-out would affect other devices – namely Google’s own Nexus line. Well, it didn’t take too long to get an answer: Now. Yup – that’s right.
If you’re the owner of a Nexus device, be it a smartphone or a tablet, you might already have a notification to upgrade. If you don’t, you can hit-up the System Updates section and check to see if one is available. If you’re still out-of-luck, you’ll be able to grab the update manually straight from the source.
I can’t begin to tell you how miffed I am that my only Nexus device died a few months ago, so this roll-out is a swing and a miss for me. Fortunately, I’ll be able to dabble with the new OS next week, once it hits NVIDIA’s SHIELD Tablet.
Once again, if you’re unsure of what Lollipop 5.0 (sounds like a pop song name the more I say it…) brings to the table, I’d recommend you check out the look that I posted last month. This is definitely the sweetest Android OS to date.
