Caving Into the Excitement, NVIDIA Kicks-off SHIELD Pre-orders Today

We reported earlier this week that pre-orders for NVIDIA’s upcoming handheld gaming platform SHIELD would kick-off on May 20th, but thanks to the sheer level of excitement for the product that the company has witnessed since then, it’s decided to push the date ahead to today. Whether or not this is merely NVIDIA’s way of generating more excitement, we’re unsure. But given how interesting SHIELD is, I don’t think I could blame it.

As mentioned in the last post, pricing for SHIELD is $349. Full tech specs are available there for those interested. If you’re planning to pre-order, you can do so at one of these etailers:

Newegg –
Gamestop –
Canada Computer –

So, who’s getting one?

It’s a really cool idea, but $350 to play Android games? Sorry, but no. If I could take my PC games on the road, hells yeah! For now though, it’s like being told to bring lemon Pledge from home.
