What a shame – I was actually really excited about this, but the price just puts it out of feasibility. This was the device that, as a business, I could consider coming to Win8 early to have – the first TRUE tablet. The SurfaceRT is a great many wonderful things as far as aesthetics and concept – particularly out of MS – but the RT handicaps it into oblivion. And now, MS’s other offering will be priced out of its market.

I keep hoping…but maybe it will fall quickly enough in price that it can still remain relevant.

The pen will essentially emulate the mouse on those applications which aren’t compatible or practical with the touch interface paradigm. Being this a business-oriented tablet and not a comsumer one, this will be a great many applications.

What does the pen do? Function like a stylus? Write on paper? Leak in your pocket?

I’m just wondering if it actually means anything that it has it.
