That would be OnLive! streamer, which sort of folded a while ago. They were a streaming service that later released a console, but you could use the service on any system with an internet connection and a screen. On that service, games could be rented for limited time, or pay a subscription.

I was under the impression that AAA games or disc media games would be rented and then streamed but never owned. Am I thinking of something else again?

I am not following. What do you mean the games are only rented? As far as I’m aware, the OUYA takes advantage of the Google Play store, where game purchases are retained and can be used on multiple devices. It’ll also have its own store, but once the content is purchased, it’s yours. This is no different than purchasing a game off of Xbox Live Arcade.

I still don’t think this will go anywhere, mainly cause you don’t own anything it’s all rent with the games and when people realize that it will turn them off or if their inet sucks.
