You’ve read our review, so by now you should know just how exciting Intel’s new Lynnfield-based processors are. How about a chance at winning a gaming PC complete with the top of the Lynnfield’s, the Core i7-870? Until September 24, you’ll have the chance to win such a PC, but it will require a little bit of effort! Read on, and good luck!

(Contest closed – stay tuned for winner.)

To help celebrate the newly-launched Lynnfield processors, Intel and select sponsors have teamed up with Techgage to hold a contest where you could find yourself owning a brand-new gaming PC, featuring the ultra-fast Core i7-870 Quad-Core processor (with HyperThreading!). Of course, by now we assume you’ve read our in-depth report on what Lynnfield has brought to the table, and if not, it’s not too late!

To have the chance at winning this awesome gaming PC, a little bit of work is required. Prior to the launch of this contest, we scattered a bunch of words all around our Lynnfield (or related) coverage, past and present. It’s up to you to go and seek them out. With all of the words found, you’ll construct a sentence using them. Simple, huh?

Contest words are both bold and orange in color, so they’re easy to spot. There are a total of 13 words (or small groups of words) total, so as long as you find 13 separate instances, you’re set. No period is required at the end of the sentence. As long as we get the words in an order that makes sense, you’ll be entered.

(As there has been some confusion about the contest words, I’d like to reiterate the rules here. There are 13 separate instances where words will be bold and orange (the words “bold and orange” on this page aren’t part of the contest). Some instances will be a single word, while others will have more than one word. All combined, the sentence will be 18 words long.)

Once a sentence is created, sign up on our forums, and PM the answer to Rob. You are not required to post in our forums for the contest, and doing so won’t increase your chance of winning. But, we sure wouldn’t complain if you did anyway! You will never receive spam from us by signing up on our forums, and we’d of course never give your information away.

The contest runs until 4:00PM CST on Thursday, September 24th. That is the final day of the upcoming Intel Developer Forum, which we will once again be reporting from. It seems like an appropriate time to end the event, especially since the mad rush to get all the latest news from the show posted will be done with! Complete rules and regulations are at the bottom of this page.

To help offer such a contest, Intel has brought both CyberPower and iBUYPOWER on board to put together some sweet systems, and the latter (specs below) will be given away at the conclusion of our contest. Here’s a quick blurb from Intel, followed by links to selected e-tailers with Lynnfield processors in stock:

Intel is excited about our new Lynnfield line of processors – Core i5 and Core i7. To show how excited we are we are giving away over a dozen CyberPower and Ibuypower systems to the readers of the tech reviewers who put the products through their paces daily! ‘Core i for the mainstream guy (and gal)’ is what we affectionately call it, bringing the Nehalem architecture to mainstream PC pricepoints everywhere. Our awesome etail partners below helped make this happen, hit them up when you go shopping for a system. And special thanks to CyberPower and iBUYPOWER for delivering the goods yet again.

Contest Prize

The prize for this contest is ONE iBUYPOWER Paladin PC shown above (chassis may vary), which includes various accessories and Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. Total value for the prize at contest launch is $2,199. The winner will not be incurred shipping charges or sales taxes – they will be taken care of in full by Techgage Networks Inc.

The prize will be shipped via FedEX Express within a month of contest closing (Sept 24 – Oct 24). Potential delays would be caused by Techgage receiving the prize late from the vendor. The winner will be kept up to date regarding any potential situation.

Eligibility

In order to participate, you must live in either Canada or the United States. We regret being unable to ship outside of these countries. If the winner resides in Canada, a skill-testing question is required to be answered, as per Canadian law.

To enter, you must be at least 16 years of age and are not an employee of Techgage Networks Inc.

One contest submission is allowed per household.

The winner of the contest will need to provide a full name, mailing address and phone number in order to have a smooth and prompt shipment of the prize.

Contest Entry & Winner

The contest runs until Thursday September 24, 4:00PM CST.

To enter the contest, follow these steps:

1) Search through Techgage’s Lynnfield-related content for special words (bold and orange in color), and use them to construct a full sentence. There is a total of 13 instances of these special words located throughout our recent Lynnfield content and news articles.

Note: As we’ve quickly discovered, there are many ways to construct a sentence out of our contest words, so as long as all 13 sets of words are used to create a readable sentence, we’ll accept it as an entry.

2) Sign up on our forums and PM your answer to Rob.

At the end of the contest, all correct answers will be thrown into the virtual hat and one winner will be randomly selected. We will contact that winner immediately. That winner has two weeks to get back to us, at which point we would draw another random name.

For reiteration of rules or any questions, please e-mail Rob at rob [dot] williams at tg.

If for whatever reason this page needs to be edited during the contest, addendums will be posted below with the time stamp of when and what was edited.
