You’ve read our review, so by now you should know just how exciting Intel’s new Gulftown-based processors are. So how about a chance at winning a gaming PC complete with the Core i7-980X Extreme Edition? Until April 16, you’ll have the chance to win such a PC, and entering couldn’t be much easier! Read on, and good luck!

Contest and survey are closed. Stay tuned for the winner!

Last month, Intel did something rather impressive… it released the world’s FIRST six-core desktop processor. Yes, six cores, all in the form of the Core i7-980X Extreme Edition. As Intel’s highest-end processor (which looks to be the case for a little while), it’s no surprise to see it clocked at 3.33GHz. Not only that, but thanks to Intel’s efficient HyperThreading technology, the six cores available here equal twelve threads in your OS, making the processor even more desirable for the hardcore multi-taskers out there.

How is someone to get ahold of one of these beasts? Well as you’d imagine, the demand is sky-high at the moment, and all e-tailers seem to be fresh out. So, what better time than now to hold a contest where you not only get the processor, but an entire PC built around it? Thanks to our friends at Intel and iBUYPOWER, that contest idea is a reality.

The prize being offered is iBUYPOWER’s high-end Chimera 2, featuring the brand-new Inferno 2 chassis. Aside from Intel’s Core i7-980X Extreme Edition, the PC also features ATI’s smoking-fast Radeon HD 5870, 6GB of DDR3-1600 memory, Intel’s own 80GB X25-M solid-state drive, an LG Blu-ray Re-Writer and much more. Without a doubt, this PC is a monster (the good kind).
