In advance of its November 5th launch (PC, PS3, Xbox 360 & Wii U), Activision has just dropped a Call of Duty: Ghosts launch trailer that runs for a little over a minute. In that minute, though, we can get a good idea that Ghosts is going to live up to the Call of Duty legacy of being action-packed straight through. Have a look:

In Ghosts, a hacking by a group called “Federation” ruins the global balance and results in destruction the world over – even some countries are wiped right out. Ten years later, Federation becomes a global superpower, and invades and almost entirely swallows up a crippled United States. Ghosts, as the group is called, emerges from the US Military to fight back and reclaim what’s theirs.

Are you ready to heed the call?

Part of me kind of what’s to get back into FPS that aren’t Borderlands (that game fried me me to the point where I may never go back to Pandora). Cartoony is good, but I’ve always liked the CoD series for fairly deep stories and some pretty gritty shoot outs. Even multiplayer was fun when I stopped comparing it to the Battlefield series. Maybe some day I’ll even figure out how to get some melee kills.

I’m getting so tired of the Battlefield vs. CoD argument. Can’t visit a comments section about either game without seeing fanbois show-up and mouth off about the other. People just need to take the hint that some people like what they like. I happen to prefer CoD over Battlefield, and I think Ghosts looks fantastic.

Sorry to hear that about Borderlands though.

I agree. They’re two vastly different games in terms of pacing. I’d never snipe in CoD, but could do it all day in BF, because it feels like you have the time. Bigger maps are part of the reason.

Anyway, CoD: Ghosts has me intrigued. Too bad I also have a running list of games that also have caught my eye.

Starbound, Destiny (currently trying to bag a beta key), Beyond – Two Souls, Watch Dogs (my wife wants this one bad), EverQuest Next, and Titan Fall.

*List subject to get ridiculously long without notice.

I want Watch Dogs quite badly as well. Everquest Next has me intrigued, but I think it’s a little dangerous for me to add yet another MMO to my current fleet, haha.

As for taking your time, I hear ArmA is even crazier for that. My brother plays III quite a bit.
