When I posted about the release of Shadow Warrior Classic Redux last month, I somehow failed to realize that a reboot had been in the works for the series. Appropriately called Shadow Warrior, the game features modern graphics, a slightly toned-down Lo Wang (racism, namely) and truckloads of destruction. Yes – you’ll be able to get your fill of slicing enemy heads off with your katana.
A gameplay trailer was released just the other day, and can be seen below:
So far, I must admit that this is shaping up to be exactly what I’d expect from a Shadow Warrior remake in 2013, so this is one I’m quite looking forward to. If you are as well, you’ll be happy to know that pre-orders have kicked-off, with both Steam and GOG.com offering a couple of perks.
Pre-ordering the game at Steam will give you the Zilla Enterprises Z45 Katana, a Serious Sam 3 sledgehammer, a Hotline Miami katana, and also a Shadow Warrior digital artbook and soundtrack. Over at GOG.com, you’ll score the katana from the original game, a copy of Shadow Warrior Classic, the soundtrack for the new game, along with a wallpaper and avatar – and of course the fact that the game will be DRM-free. Both Steam and GOG have the game priced at $33.99 (15% off final price).
