It’s official: The Elder Scrolls Online launches on April 4, 2014 on the PC & Mac, and the PS4 and Xbox One two months later. These dates pit the launch at just about two years since the game was first announced.

Elder Scrolls Online Launch Date

As with most games which are set to launch in a couple of months, Bethesda is planning to spend its remaining time until launch polishing the game to a shiny finish. Game director Matt Firor had this to say:

Game development is coming along very well. We completed major systems development, and are focusing on making this the Elder Scrolls game you expect: polishing the hundreds and hundreds of hours of content, making combat even more fun and responsive, fixing quest issues, and much, much more. In fact, we plan on spending the next few months before launch reacting to the latest feedback from internal and external testers and gameplay data we have collected.

In addition to this announcement, a new trailer has been released:

Who here is anxious to jump into Tamriel with their friends?

    Whys that? :)

Well… hype, mostly, and the fact that it doesn’t look like 80% of MMOs that come out nowadays. I’ve never been into Elder Scrolls games but they’ve obviously done something right to become as popular as they are.

I have had enough of online games with SWTOR. Loved the story, characters and gameplay but in the end, it is an MMO with grinding for gear etc. Only play it for the new story content now. Never played an Elder Scroll game so won’t be playing this one too obviously, lol!
    Can’t wait for Witcher 3!!! :D
