Most folks who need a media reader for their PC tend to opt for on-the-desk versions, and who could blame them? Most internal readers are hardly pretty, and in an enthusiast chassis, you need something that’s going to look good. Enter NZXT’s Aperture M, a new internal reader with a meshed front, perfect for those of you with meshed bays (or those without, depending on personal taste).
The Aperture M supports all common (and some uncommon) card types, including CompactFlash (CF), Microdrive (MD), SmartMedia (SM), XD, SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC, Memory Stick (MS), Memory Stick Micro (M2) and MicroSD. Overall, nothing too out-of-the-ordinary here. What sets the Aperture M further apart from the rest, however, is its inclusion of 2x USB 3.0 ports (which runs off a proper internal header).
For all of its form and function, NZXT is pricing the Aperture M at $34.99. It’s important to note that “Aperture” is the name for a series, whereas “M” stands for mesh, so it’s very likely that NZXT will be releasing non-meshed versions and other variants within the months ahead.
