Logitech’s Harmony line of products have long been go-to solutions for those who want ultimate control over the devices around their homes, and with the home automation craze at an all-time high, it comes as little surprise that the company is now branching Harmony’s capabilities out even further. With its “Harmony Living Home”, you’ll be able to control an enormous number of devices built right into your home, such as a Nest thermostat or Philips hue lighting, as well as TVs, speakers, door locks, windows shades and so forth.
At the heart of Harmony Living Home is the Hub (seen to the left below), a device that utilizes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IR and RF to transmit commands from either a Harmony Home remote, or the Harmony mobile app. By itself, this hub will retail for $99.99, but it’s likely that most people will go the bundle route. For $149.99, you get the hub as well as the fairly basic-looking Harmony Control remote.
For the “Ultimate”, there’s the $349.99 bundle, which includes the hub and the very robust Ultimate Home remote, sporting a 2.4-inch display that makes setup and control a much simpler endeavor. The Ultimate Home remote can be had in either white or black – and I must say, it is pretty interesting to see a white option available.
Because of its Wi-Fi capabilities, the Harmony Hub should have some good range, although if you live in a larger building and need to extend the range, you’ll be able to do that with the “Hub Extender”. Pricing information isn’t yet available on that, but I’d estimate that it’d cost about the same as the hub itself.
If you want to get in on this Harmony Home action, you can pick up every single one of these products (aside from the Extender) on Logitech’s official website right now.
