Our very own Greg King is at this years GDC with the focus on AGEIA to see what they are up to. We hope to discover a lot within the next few days to see what they are up to, and hopefully to see when we will finally be able to get our hands on an actual card. We will keep this article updated as we gather new info.

Epic Games Supports AGEIA PhysX Processor in
Unreal Tournament 2007

Highly Anticipated Title Sets New Standards for Gameplay, Graphics and Physics.

MOUNTAIN VIEW and SAN JOSE, Calif. March 22, 2006 – AGEIA Technologies, Inc., the pioneer in hardware-accelerated physics for games, today announced at the Game Developers Conference that Epic Games, Inc. is supporting the AGEIA PhysX processor in its much-anticipated Unreal Tournament 2007. Epic developers are leveraging the power of the AGEIA PhysX SDK to add unprecedented physics action to UT2007, a multiplayer shooter that promises to be the game that everyone is talking about. Unreal Tournament 2007 is expected to be available when its done for the PC and PlayStation 3.

AGEIA PhysX technology is already integrated into Epic Games award-winning Unreal Engine 3, which is the underlying technology for many next-generation games in development from some of the industrys top developers and publishers. Unreal Engine 3 now boasts a state-of-the-art physical animation system, enabling artists to create game characters that react to hits and other stimuli within the environment, such as opponent attacks.

The AGEIA PhysX processor is available in game PCs from Dell, Alienware and Falcon Northwest starting today, and on add-in boards from ASUS and BFG technologies starting in May 2006.

Epic Games has been a supporter of AGEIA PhysX technology since its inception, and the availability of the AGEIA PhysX processor will turn up the heat on physics action for the PC, said Tim Sweeney, CEO of Epic Games. With AGEIA PhysX integrated into the Unreal Engine 3, PC gamers and Playstation gamers alike will experience some amazingly cool physics in Unreal Tournament 2007.

Unreal Tournament 2007 takes maximum advantage of the new gaming power triangle of CPU, GPU and AGEIA PhysX processor that is revolutionizing the game PC, said Kathy Schoback, vice president of content acquisition at AGEIA. As a result, Unreal Tournament 2007 will set new standards for gameplay, graphics and physics in next-generation games.
