Intel’s Pentium-M 735 Processor and DFI 855GME Motherboard @ Hexus

“Performance wise, there’s one thing that stands out from the analysis and observation of P-M’s scaling with nothing more than its base frequency: it’s crying out for core logic to let it breathe and perform to its fullest; there’s definitely plenty of extra performance to be had by pairing P-M with Alviso core logic. There’s also extra performance to be had just by upping the CPU’s bus clock, so the upcoming 200MHz Pentium-Ms, using Alviso, should give very fine performance, comparatively.”

Radeon X800, XL distribution costs revealed @ Tech Report

“We have been following the story of pricing and availability of the latest ATI cards for some time now. We have recently learned that the cost to resellers of Radeon X800 and X800 XL cards via distribution is higher than ATI’s suggested retail price. In some cases, this information changes the math on which video card we’d recommend, the ATI or the NVIDIA.”

Abit’s Fatal1ty AN8 motherboard reviewed @ Tech Report

“ABIT FIRST INTRODUCED its Fatal1ty-branded motherboard line with the Intel 925XE-based Fatal1ty AA8XE. Given the Pentium 4 platform’s comparably poor gaming performance, that probably wasn’t the greatest idea. After all, the Fatal1ty brand squarely targets gamers and enthusiasts who know better than to covet Pentium 4 motherboards.

It seems that Abit now knows better, too. They’ve bolstered the Fatal1ty lineup with the Fatal1ty AN8 motherboard for Athlon 64 processors. With a 939-pin socket, nForce4 Ultra chipset, temperature-controlled OTES cooling, and a loaded uGuru-powered BIOS, the Fatal1ty AN8 could be the ultimate Athlon 64 platform for gamers, overclockers, and enthusiasts. Read on to see if it was worth the wait.”

Club 3D Radeon X800XL PCI Express @ Viperlair

“Performance from the X800XL was fantastic, quite happily keeping pace with our X850XT PE in many tests, although the highest resolutions and heavy AntiAliasing/Anisotropic filtering did slow it down slightly in comparison.”

Cooler Master Dual Storm @ Hexus

“As case fans go, Cooler Master’s Dual Storm certainly has something different to offer – The dual fan capabilities of the part give both the ability to move a lot of air and redundancy in the case of one of the fans failing. Add in to that the fancy styling and blue LED, and this may be something that will tickle the fancy of some users.”

ATI TV Wonder Elite @ Viperlair

“A good quality TV-tuner seems to be hard to find these days. With so many options on the market it is hard to pick a winner as it were. ATI seem to have released a very solid TV-tuner card with the TV Wonder Elite. Video quality was excellent. The high quality comb filters and noise reduction built into the Theater 550 Pro definitely shine in the screenshots.”

Purple PCB! I haven’t seen Purple PCB since my first Soltek board! Check out this great review at Viper Lair.

Swiftech MCW20-A on Intel Desktop Dothan @ InsaneTek

“Swiftech has been one of the most respected names for years. They have expanded from offering only blocks to complete setups. Today, we are concentrating on one piece of that system: the Northbridge cooler. In most cases, the Northbridge cooler would be an optional component. Instead of sitting on an i875, nForce3, or some other chipset, we’re going to place it on top of an Intel Pentium M processor. If this block can handle the output from a full processor, imagine the cooling it would achieve for your motherboard chipset.”
