The last time I talked about AOC, it had just released one of the most attractive 27-inch 1080p displays I had seen up to that point (especially where the price was concerned), and now, it’s caught my attention again with its brand-new 144Hz gaming display.
At a time when most of us don’t even have 120Hz displays, 144Hz might seem over-the-top, and in some ways, it is. To achieve perfect synchronization between game and display, you’d need a high-end PC capable of delivering at least 144 FPS – that’s a tall order. Even if that can’t be achieved, though, the result should still be impressive.
In addition to the 144Hz panel, the 24-inch G2460PQU features a 1080p resolution, four USB 2.0 ports (including a fast-charging port for mobiles), a 350cd/m2 brightness, 1ms response time, and a totally believable 80,000,000:1 contrast ratio. In way of video ports, it offers HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI-DL, and VGA.
Specs-wise, this display is fantastic. The only thing I can see missing possibly is a built-in speaker, but chances are those who purchase this will be gamers already equipped with good sound setups. In case portrait mode is needed, either as a single display or for portrait mode multi-monitor, the display helps you out by being completely adjustable.
AOC’s G2460PQU should hit stores soon, with an SRP of about $400.
