Admit it. You’ve got your biases.
I know I have mine, especially when it comes to cars.
I’ll admit that my car enthusiast heart goes at maximum revs for Lamborghini, McLaren, and, to a lesser extent, Koenigsegg. Everyone else would just blip my throttle, so to speak.
Then I heard about Aston Martin’s upcoming racetrack-only Vulcan.
I’ll say this about the Vulcan: It’s got an awesome name.
Because it’s HOT.
Look at that chiseled nose, those muscular yet angular flanks, and details like the headlights and taillights. It has the graceful proportions only a front-engined car can have, with its long front section and short tail. The massive extractor vents on the hood are aggressive and suggestive of just how much power this hottest Aston Martin ever can generate.
Speaking of which, the Vulcan is equipped with a 7 liter V12 that is rumored to produce circa 800bhp. This massive engine is normally-aspirated. That just makes me giddier, as I personally don’t care much for turbocharging.
The Vulcan is definitely constructed and equipped like a racing car. It has an all-carbon fiber body and chassis as well as carbon ceramic brakes. It is also equipped with a six-speed sequential transmission, an adjustable braking system augmented with ABS, and traction control.
As mentioned, the Vulcan is a track-only model. Only twenty-four examples will be sold. Aston Martin hasn’t disclosed any pricing information, but it did say the Vulcan will make its public bow at next week’s Geneva Auto Show.
