ASUS has just kicked-off an overclocking competition that anyone who owns a Republic of Gamers or TUF series motherboard can enter. As has become the theme lately, ASUS has chosen to run its competition through HWBot.org – a good thing given the score validation mechanics in place.
To excel at this competition, you’ll want to try your hardest to outscore the competition in these three areas:
- Maximum CPU Frequency
- SuperPi 32M
- 3DMark Sky Diver
The first-place winner of any one of these benchmarks will be able to choose between an RoG Maximus VII motherboard or the RoG Matrix R9 290X graphics card, while second-place gets the choice between the Maximus VII Formula or Maximus VII Impact motherboards.
The person who scores the best overall (aggregate of all three areas above) will receive an X99 motherboard at the time of its release this fall. Further, if anyone is lucky enough to break a world record in either of the three areas (as of the completion of the competition), ASUS will slide you a cool $1,000 USD.
ASUS is running this competition until August 15th; to participate, simply head here.
