It’s no secret that generic onboard audio is something to be avoided if you appreciate crisp, clear sound, and that’s the main reason ASUS created its SupremeFX onboard series a number of years ago. In 2011, the company introduced its SupremeFX III design where the card is built right into the motherboard but shielded away from all of the other components. Last year, the SupremeFX IV brought built-in headphone amps – a huge future for those who prefer headphones over speakers (like me).
So, what’s next? As the above teaser shot shows, nothing is being revealed as of yet. Hence, the “teaser”. There’s one important thing to note: as we covered in our overall look at ASUS’ Z87 motherboards, the company is introducing “Sonic Radar”, which allows you to pinpoint where audio sources are coming from (a potential boon to online gaming). ASUS notes that this, along with Perfect Voice, is not the mystery feature here.
Speculate away!
