If you live in or around the Sunnyvale, California area, then the place to be this coming weekend is Frys, where ASUS and a bevvy of sponsors are holding what the company touts as being a “Computer Enthusiast” event. Unlike a traditional “overclocking event” or “LAN”, ASUS has combined those two things together and tossed in case modding for good measure. Are there prizes? Oh yeah, there are prizes.
The event is open to the public, but I am not too sure how easy it will be to get in on the action if you are a walk-in overclocker, but it does seem to be an option. There’s one major catch, though: you must be using an ASUS motherboard and graphics card (seems fair). With over $50,000 worth of hardware being put up for grabs, I predict that many happy folks will be leaving this Frys location this weekend.
You can read full details at the URL below, and gasp in awe at the pictures of all the hardware. If no gasping is induced, then this might not be the right event for you!
