Well, it’s not too often something like this happens. Before its official announcement (likely due to occur at next week’s CES), ASUS has featured its Eee PC “Flare” netbooks on its ASUS Design website. There, it’s seen that the netbook has received two awards; “Good Design” from Japan and “Successful Design” from China.
On the ASUS Design website, the Eee PC Flare is described as being a revolution of the Eee PC. “The idea of fashion and mobility of the modern city. More specialization, more trendy and more succinctness!” It’s hard to disagree with this; the Flare looks great. It appears to be aluminium, but rather than feature one color, it comes in at least three; blue, red and purple. Kudos to ASUS for offering up a purple option, because how often do we see that?
Of all the companies we deal with on a regular basis, I have to say that it’s been ASUS that has consistently impressed me each year with its unveiled products. Much of these we don’t even see simply because the company produces so many. Although functionality is more important than aesthetics, ASUS does well to make sure its products has an emphasis on both, with special edition products being released all the time that cater to specific tastes (most recently, the Jay Chou N43SL notebook).
The Eee PC Flare is likely the first of many products to be unveiled at CES next week, and while we won’t be there this time around, we’ll be talking about the company’s releases, along with others, as much as possible.
