A couple of weeks ago, we relayed the message that Beamdog’s legal hassles were over and done with, with Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition once again going on sale. As part of that announcement, the developers stated that work would continue on an “Enhanced Edition” of the game’s sequel. I am not sure anyone expected an announcement for that game to come just a couple of weeks later.
Baldur’s Gate 2: Enhanced Edition looks to become a definitive version, as it bundles in the game’s two official expansion packs (available as DLC on the mobile versions, for some reason, but included with the PC and Mac versions), introduces four new party members, offers support for today’s resolutions and thankfully, supports multiplayer.
There’s no denying that Beamdog’s release of Baldur’s Gate: EE had some serious launch issues, so we can only hope that the forthcoming release for its sequel will be pulled off without a hitch.
