BioWare co-founders Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk have jointly announced their retirements from the game industry today. Muzyka will go on to invest in and mentor new entrepreneurs, while Zeschuck plans to go on and drink a lot of beer and putting that fun to video with interviews and other ideas. Both Muzyka and Zeschuk remained with the company since its inception, five years of which were spent under the EA umbrella.
To say that these men had an impact on the video game industry would be an understatement. We’re talking a company that released Baldur’s Gate, MDK 2, Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Mass Effect and of course, Dragon Age. If that’s not a track record, I am not sure what is. Muzyka’s and Zeschuk’s final released game at BioWare will forever be settled in history as Mass Effect 3.
