Oh Borderlands, what hath thee done. Take-Two, the parent company of 2K Games, has stated that the pre-order sales figures of upcoming title, Borderlands 2, are the third highest it’s seen in its history, only below the behemoths GTA IV and GTA San Andreas. Development of BL2 is complete and pre-orders can be placed from a number of retailers and online distributors (such as Steam). Third highest pre-order, and there is still another month to go before release.
Gearbox is continuing development of additional DLC for the game while we wait the complimentary month for retail boxes to finish printing and shipping. Those who pre-order will receive the Mechromancer character for free once released (approximately 60-90 days post launch), and those who put pre-orders through select retailers will receive the Creature Slaughter Dome DLC too (which will be made available for purchase separately at a later date, so don’t worry about missing out). In addition, people with save games from the original Borderlands, will receive an extra gift in the form of extra cosmetics, such as helmets and skins, for their new BL2 characters.
Better still, BL2 will be released internationally, uncensored. No country specific feature removals, and by features I mean bloody chunks of departed anatomy, blown off through one of a bazillion weapons. If you missed it too, there is a love letter from our dearest Claptrap, to all PC gamers – because we deserve better. You can continue to salivate over the upcoming launch in our forums.
