Last week, we posted about an impressive DirectX 12 tech demo shown off at Build that Square Enix had prepared with the help of NVIDIA and Microsoft. Called WITCH – Chapter 0 [cry], this quad-TITAN X powered tech demo highlighted realistic emotion, and an incredibly detailed character – every single strandĀ of hair was a single polygon. Now, we must wait to see if Square Enix will bring the game the demo is based on, Final Fantasy XV, to our glorious PC platform.
As it happens, that FFXV tech demo wasn’t the only one shown off at Build. Also there was a title called King of Wushu, a CryEngine-powered martial arts game. Unfortunately, it looks to be a Chinese-exclusive title when it gets released later this summer, but that won’t stop us from admiring its graphical capabilities.
Interestingly, King of Wushu was originally released for the PlayStation 4, and this PC version we’re seeing in the video above is a port. Despite the obvious complications that would have been involved to make that move happen, NVIDIA says that it took only two engineers 6 weeks total to port the entire game on over, from DirectX 11 to DirectX 12.
NVIDIA actually covered this game in December, highlighting that it utilizes the company’s HairWorks and PhysX clothing. It’s hinted that more will be announced before release.
