Cooler Master has introduced its latest entry in the growing mini-PC market space. The Elite 130 mITX chassis is an evolution of the popular Elite 120.
The new Elite 130 is a little bit more compact than even the older Elite, yet boasts even more capability to host high-performance PC hardware. The front panel is meshed, which endows the new Elite 130 with superior airflow and cooling potential compared to its older kin. But the styling remains reserved and elegant.
Cooler Master says the new Elite 130 has enough interior volume to fit even the highest-end dual-slot graphics cards (this includes NVIDIA’s mighty GTX Titan and AMD’s Radeon HD 7990!). This also means that it can accommodate full-length ATX power supplies, eliminating the need for end-users to find suitable compact or otherwise proprietary power supply units.
Not only that, but the new mITX chassis can also fit up to five 3.5″ HDDs/2.5″ SSDs. It also has room for one 5.25″ optical drive.
The company also boasts that the Elite 130 can even fit a single 120mm radiator (even the thick ones!) in the front intake fan position. Speaking of cooling, it comes with one 120mm fan (front intake) and one 80mm (side) pre-installed.
As far as I/O features go, it has two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, and Audio In and Out up front. It has two PCI expansion slots out back, as well.
mITX rigs have never been so well-endowed and powerful, and the Elite 130 seems to be at the head of the line for potential chassis for them.
Cooler Master says the Elite 130 is available now. Price and availability may vary according to region, but we spot it at Amazon for about $44 (as of the time of writing).
