Since the introduction of the original, Cooler Master’s Cosmos series has been regarded as one of the best for full-tower offerings. The chassis models are large, offer lots of cooling capability, has aesthetics to please and something that helps the models to stand apart from the rest, handles on the top and bottom that stretch across the entire length of the chassis.
Building on the legend that the Cosmos series has become, Cooler Master has today unveiled its Cosmos II, dubbed as the “Ultra Tower”. Ryan has been testing the chassis for the past couple of weeks and will have a review posted in the days to come, but what we can tell you now is that “Ultra” definitely sums up this chassis well. Look no further than this recent tweet to understand one reason why.
Inside, the Cosmos II is huge – large enough where an ATX motherboard almost looks silly. So it’s no surprise that the chassis doesn’t only support E-ATX motherboards, but also XL-ATX. That makes the Cosmos II one of the few chassis on the market able to support basically any desktop motherboard you could possibly buy. And if you want to have a build bordering on hilarious, mATX is fully supported as well.
The huge interior will allow those wanting to build a quad-GPU setup the ability to do so, and even with those all installed, there will still be some room underneath them all to improve airflow. In addition to all this, the chassis has a focus on cable management and effective airflow, so overall, this could well be the ultimate, ahem, “Ultra” enthusiast full-tower. And at $349, we’d hope that to be true.
