Corsair has just launched a new $70 chassis ($80 with tempered glass) that aims to give you everything you’re looking for in a chassis at any price-point. The Carbide 275R is a mid-tower coming in either black or white that’s painted on with the goal of a minimalist aesthetic – but not too minimalistic. This chassis looks sharp.
The popularity of vertical GPU mounts has risen extremely quickly, to the point where this $70 chassis offers you the option. You don’t have to use it, of course, and generally speaking, it’s not advisable if you want the best possible temperatures, but hey – it does look pretty cool with graphics cards that complement it.
For liquid cooling, a 360mm radiator can be installed at the front, or at the top, a 240mm can be mounted. Overall, you can fit a total of 6x 120mm fans in the 275R, and as has become standard with Corsair, cable-routing features will help keep the inside of your chassis free of hanging cables.
Another nice feature, and one that’s also growing very quickly in popularity, is the full-length PSU shroud. Let’s face it: there’s often a rat’s nest at the bottom of our chassis, and really, it’s super-hard to avoid. A shroud helps hide the mess, and also helps you look like a pro builder. To battle dust, the chassis features a removable filter at the top, front, and bottom.
In all, the 275R can support 4 SSDs, all of which could be vertically mounted on the back side. Two preinstalled holders are placed right behind the motherboard, while two more could be installed near the front, screwed in from the opposite side. For bulk storage needs, two 3.5″ bays are found inside of the PSU area.
Corsair is selling its Carbide 275R right now on its website, but as of the time of writing, every one of the SKUs appears to be sold out. That should soon change, however. For either the white or black chassis with standard window, you’ll have to part with $70; $80 if you want a tempered glass version.
