In the world of cars, there are brands, and there are sub-brands. For example, Nissan has Infiniti, Toyota has Lexus, Ford has Lincoln, and Honda has Acura.
Things aren’t so different in the world of PC peripherals. For a few years now, companies have sought fit to branch out and create sub-divisions totally dedicated to gaming and eSports. Thermaltake has Tt eSports, Cooler Master has CM Storm, and Logitech has Logitech G.
Now, Corsair has Corsair Gaming.
This newly announced gaming-focused sub-brand already has a jam-packed product line. From keyboards boasting 100% mechanical RGB gaming switches such as the K70 RGB and the K95 RGB to RGB gaming mice like the M65 RGB, equipment from the Corsair Gaming line offers the “same advanced engineering precision” that Corsair components typically have merged with the color and style of Corsair Gaming’s RGB LED effects.
Corsair Gaming’s first offering is the K70 RGB mechanical keyboard. Featuring 16.8 million color per-key backlighting engineered into CHERRY MX Red/Brown, and Blue switches, the K70 RGB is “streamlined for shooters.” Corsair promises that its RGB lighting effects will be “fast and fluid,” with the capacity for “virtually infinite customization and dramatic special effects.” Full key rollover and 100% anti-ghosting from integration with the Corsair Utility Engine (CUE) software only add to the goodness. The K70 RGB is available for $169.99.
The new eSports-focused sub-brand will eventually grow to include gaming mice, more keyboards, mousemats, and headsets.
And so the game begins.
