We’ve talked a fair bit about NVIDIA’s Broadcast utility in the past, but perhaps not enough considering just how crucial the tool has become to some Techgage staffers, either for work or play. For those not familiar with Broadcast, or need a refresher, it’s an AI-powered solution that offers a number of features to improve both the audio and visuals in your gaming and streaming. Have an air conditioner sitting behind you humming away? It will be unheard by anyone on your call, or in your recording.
Broadcast is more than just filtering your mic, however. With the camera capabilities, you can quickly change your background, blur it, and generally enhance your stream’s quality.
While some competing solutions to Broadcast exist, we’ve yet to find one that performs as well, much less better, and clearly, Corsair finds value in it, as it is implementing Broadcast into its iCUE and Elgato software solutions.
Something to be aware of up-front is that Corsair’s integration of Broadcast features is meant to be used by its own products – like the ST100 headset stand, or any Corsair headset that’s detected by iCUE. If you’re using a non-Corsair headset, you can still use NVIDIA’s own standalone Broadcast software.
While we consider the addition of Broadcast to a solution like iCUE to be a good move, it has to be said that only one GPU vendor is being catered to. In order to take advantage of Broadcast, you need an NVIDIA RTX graphics card. AMD users are out-of-luck, and will need to source their own stream-enhancing solution. Hopefully in time, Corsair will figure out a way to cater to its customers using Radeon GPUs so they could also gain access to similar capabilities.
Either way, if you have all of the right goods, this integration is worth exploring. If you do give it a go, feel free to share your thoughts below. We don’t have any Corsair headsets kicking around here, or else we’d dive in!
