Just when you thought Corsair couldn’t possibly fit more models into its all-in-one cooler lineup, it’s gone ahead and done just that. The new “Platinum” variant is for those who don’t want to compromise on anything – cooling ability, and features. And if those “features” include “bling”, the Platinum series has definitely got that going on.
Both of the fans included with the H100i and H115i RGB are of the ML variety. Jamie took a look at these fans back in 2016, not long after their announcement. They use magnetic levitation to reduce vibration and noise, and cost more than competing types for the privilege. The H100i includes two 120mm fans and a 240mm radiator, while the H115i bumps that to 140mm fans and a 280mm radiator.
On the color front, these coolers are the first from Corsair that sport programmable RGBs on both the fans and the pump. That will allow you to take full advantage of the rainbow of colors available, customize individual zones (4 in each fan, 16 in pump), or do what will raise the least amount of harassment from family and friends, and keep them all the same color.
These new coolers also have the capability of shutting the fans off entirely if there’s no real CPU stress going on. Some motherboards have offered this functionality for a while, but getting everything to work as it should is a lot easier from the cooler maker itself.
On the topic of configuration, these coolers of course can utilize Corsair’s iCUE software suite, which allows the configuration of color and myriad other things. If you have other compatible RGB products from Corsair, everything can be configured from within this single piece of software.
Corsair’s H100i RGB Platinum is available for $159.99, while the slightly beefier H115i is available for a mere ten bucks more.
