Corsair has just released a beastly gaming keyboard, called K100 RGB. The company considers it to be the ‘pinnacle” of gaming keyboards, and does have a range of features to help back that claim up. Corsair says that this is the fastest keyboard in existence, thanks to its AXON “Hyper-Processing Technology”, which enables 4,000Hz polling, effectively registering your key presses up to four-times quicker.
Speed is the name of the game here, so Corsair offers either CHERRY MX Speed Silver switches, or its own optical OPX key switches, spec’d for 1.0mm actuation. With a 4,000Hz polling rate, this keyboard is undeniably fast, although the verdict is still out on how many people are going to benefit from it, versus using a standard 1,000Hz polling rate. We’re talking 4,000 polls per second here. It’s nice to see such lofty specs, nonetheless.
The K100 RGB also stands out because of its iCUE control wheel, which can be used for various functions, all fully customizable inside of the namesake software. On the left side of this wheel is a button for switching the active profile, while on the right side is one to disable the Windows key. On the opposite end of this plank is the trusty volume roller, with a mute button next to it.
This K100 RGB is meant to be fast, but it’s also meant to be feature-packed. There are six dedicated macro keys situated on the left side of the keyboard, all configurable for iCUE and Elgato functions. Last, but not least, the keyboard also includes a plush wrist rest, aiding in long-term comfortable use.
We can’t find this keyboard available at etail yet, but based on the K100 RGB product page, both the CHERRY and Corsair AXON switch versions will be retailing for $229.99 USD.
