If you thought that the gaming mouse market wasn’t saturated enough, great news: Corsair has unveiled yet another new model. The GLAIVE has a couple of tricks up its sleeves that helps separate itself from most other mice out there, such as interchangeable thumbrests to better suit the game you’re playing (or your mood – variety is the spice of life, after all).
As the GLAIVE RGB name might suggest, this mouse comes equipped with customizable RGB lighting that’s split into three zones, including a section at the front of the mouse, the top (which includes the Corsair logo), and also strips that run along on either side.
The most notable feature of the GLAIVE might be its interchangeable thumbrests, and it’d be for good reason. These rests are not meant to give you a competitive edge (like the mouse’s other features); rather, it’s supposed to make it more comfortable to use. One of these modes is without a thumbrest at all, while the other two add either width or protection under your thumb along with a rubbery texture for added grip.
Also notable is the fact that Omron switches can be found here, rated for 50 million clicks, along with an optical sensor allowing up to a resolution of 16,000 DPI (adjustable by 1 from top to bottom), onboard storage, and of course, the de facto 1000Hz polling rate.
Corsair gives its GLAIVE RGB a two-year warranty, and is pricing it at $69.99 USD. One of these mice coincidentally hit my doorstep today, so I’ll tear it open later and get right to testing. Tying into that, if you have any questions about the mouse while I test, please shoot them at me.
