Corsair has just announced that its Voyager GTX flash drive – its fastest to date – has just been released. We’re talking a small little drive that can achieve read speeds of 450MB/s and write speeds of 350MB/s, and supports SSD’s TRIM feature. Of course, speed like this won’t come too cheap, but given we’re talking about a thumb drive, that shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Available now, the 128GB model carries an SRP of $119.99, while the 256GB is priced at $239.99.
To achieve its performance values, Corsair used both ATTO and CrystalDiskMark under Windows 8. It’s kind of rare when a company will actually provide its benchmark results in the form of a graph like this, but Corsair went ahead and did that:
As I was beginning to prepare this post, I talked to the staff about the drive and someone mentioned that it’d be the perfect solution to store portable games on. Funny enough, Corsair agrees, as its press release says, “Take your favorite games with you to a LAN party, or quickly transfer your whole movie collection for easy viewing later. It’s the perfect storage gadget for any student, content-hoarder, or computer power user.”
The Voyager GTX’s fast performance is its most-touted feature, but I’ll be honest, the fact that the drives are backed by a five-year warranty definitely has me intrigued as well.
