Earth 2150 is arguably both a great videogame and a classic representation of the RTS genre. Its lauded sequel hits retail shelves in mid-September of 2005, and fans of the genre are eagerly awaiting its arrival—and, based on the following, it is not difficult to see why.
The graphics on display in Earth 2160 are easily some of the best to grace the RTS genre, and the game’s performance when sporting this level of eye candy is truly astounding. Obviously graphics are not the key ingredient when it comes to making a good game, and certainly not an RTS title. Thankfully, the story and gameplay are both solid. The maps are fairly linear, but that’s not such a bad thing because they are fairly expansive, and finding your way to an enemy base could quickly become boring if there were too many paths.
There are no screenshots to be had yet, but it’s sounding like this might be a worthwhile game. Can’t wait to see more in the future. Check out the full preview at Gamershell.
