If you’re the type of PC enthusiast who’s always on the lookout for something different, then today is your day as ENERMAX announces its new STEELWING micro-ATX/mini-ITX aluminum chassis.
Don’t let the name fool you. Other than the tempered glass panel on the left side, the rest of the chassis is made from 3.5mm thick aluminum. The decision to go with aluminum over steel stems from the fact that aluminum transfers heat more efficiently. Combine this with the mesh covered vents that extend up the front panel and over the top, and the 120mm front intake fan, and the cooling potential of the STEELWING continues to grow.
The STEELWING is ready to handle some high-end hardware as well, such as GPUs measuring up to 290mm, and 120mm liquid coolers. There’s also room for a 2.5″ and a 3.5″ drive on the bottom of the chassis, and a second 3.5″ drive can be installed on the front fan mount if liquid cooling isn’t being used.
Other than the features listed above and the fact that there is a red and a green version, there’s not much else known at the moment, such as pricing and availability.
