Right on schedule, Valve has just launched its annual “Steam Autumn Sale“. If you’re looking to save money, stop reading. While much of the site’s catalog is on sale, the most attractive sales will be featured on the front-page. Newer or popular titles can be found in the “Today’s Deals” section, while a random collection can be found under “Flash Sales”. That latter section can refresh throughout the day, so you’ll want to keep checking back.
It an effort to further promote indie developers, there’s an entire section devoted to those games – and some of the prices are way too irresistible. Some very-new indie games have also seen a slight price slash, so now would be a good time to jump on them.
If a game you want isn’t featured on the front-page at any time, you may want to simply search for it and see if it is. I searched for 10 random games, and all of them were on sale, some pretty significantly. If you’re worried that a game you’re considering may go on sale at an even better price, you may want to simply bookmark it and keep checking the front-page as the sale goes on. If it doesn’t go on for an even better price, you could take the bite on the final day of the sale.
