It should come as a surprise to no one that sitting at your desk all day isn’t the healthiest of activities, and unfortunately, when actively working (or let’s face it: gaming), it’s easy to forget that getting up and stretching your legs is a good idea. But, you say you don’t want to get up… you need to keep working. That’s a problem Ergotech solves with its just-announced Sit Stand, part of its “Freedom” line.
The name ‘Sit Stand’ is heavily ironic, but it suits the product perfectly. Unlike most monitor mounts, this one has a built-in keyboard tray, and with the help of a built-in motor, can easily raise both your monitors and the keyboard / mouse when the need arises. This would allow you to go from a sitting position to a standing one in just a couple of seconds, allowing you to give your legs that much-needed stretch, and not to mention improve circulation all throughout your body.
As you’d expect from Ergotech, the Sit Stand is heavily flexible, able to support a single monitor (at least, I’d imagine), and these configurations: 1×1, 2×2, 3×1 and 3×1+1. Priced at $1,798, the Sit Stand isn’t going to be in everyone’s budget, but I think it goes without saying that this design is fantastic, and sometimes I really wish I had this sort of option at-the-ready.
