Two summers ago, EVGA proved that SLI bridges don’t need to be boring, and now, it proves that its ‘PRO’ series wasn’t a one-off release.
The brand-new PRO V2 series bridges look a lot better than the original, in my opinion, and manage to bring some advantages at the same time. V2s sport an aluminum shroud, improved LED lighting, shielded connectors, as well as a higher pixel clock. It’s important to note that the LED lighting will only work on select cards; if you have a reference design, you’re safe, but some additional EVGA special editions support it as well.
It might be hard to believe that one SLI bridge could be better than another outside of aesthetics, but EVGA claims the V2s are the best due to their higher pixel clock. No, there will be no performance benefits here; instead, if you experienced flickering in certain games at certain resolutions and refresh rates, this higher pixel clock might get rid of the issue.
As with the original PRO bridges, V2 comes in a couple of different flavors; 2x are for 2-way (short and long), while the other two are for 3- and 4-way. Unfortunately, pricing hasn’t been revealed quite yet, but we’d expect that like the original, the V2s will start out at $30.
