Far Cry 5 has just been announced, and based on our initial look, we’re sure it’s going to be quite an interesting installment in the series. It’ll be action-packed, and perhaps more than that, downright disturbing.
If you’ve ever craved a game scenario that sees you embark on an adventure in a serene environment to do battle against a hellbent religious cult, you’ll be happy to know that your oddly specific desire will be fulfilled in Far Cry 5.
In the game’s first trailer (seen below), we’re introduced to a calm and quiet Hope County in Montana. Despite its appearance at first, Hope County is anything but calm. The first few seconds of the trailer show a beautiful mountain range backed by a blood-curdling scream, and if you look close at a church bell being rung, you’ll see that its rhythmic bong sound is caused by none other than a human head – held in the hands of another human.
Scenes just can’t get more quaint than this.
The first trailer doesn’t reveal too much, but that’s because it’s acting as a preface to a full-blown trailer that will be shown off this coming Friday (26th). Expected release is early 2018.
