The folks at FinalWire have just released an Android version of the company’s popular AIDA64 system analysis tool, and promise that an iOS version is in the works. Similar to CPU-Z for Android, AIDA64 aims to give you as much information as you’d possibly need about your device. As you can see in the shot below, it’s comprehensive.
Here’s the complete feature set of AIDA64 for Android, per FinalWire:
- CPU detection, real-time core clock measurement
- Screen dimensions, pixel density and camera information
- Battery level and temperature monitoring
- WiFi and cellular network information
- Android OS and Dalvik properties
- SoC and device model identification
- Memory and storage utilization
- OpenGL ES GPU details, real-time GPU clock measurement
- PCI, USB, CUDA, OpenCL device listing
- Sensor polling
- Listing of installed apps, codecs and system directories
- Android Wear module: native app for watches
Unlike the desktop version of AIDA64, the Android one doesn’t include benchmarks or a stress-tester, nor can it export a report of the device (that would be awesome). It wouldn’t be surprising to see some of that functionality come in later versions, but for now, what’s here is still well worth checking out if you need to know anything specific about your device (even thermal information).
I have a feeling this will become an integral part of my Android toolbox.
Addendum: I pinged FinalWire to gauge the future of the mobile variant of AIDA64, and was told that at this point, the company is “testing the waters”. It would love to add benchmarks in the future, but needs to first make sure that it will be a solution people actually use (desktop benchmarks are not easily portable to mobile, and new ones need to be created). With an average rating of 4.7 spread across 1,000 ratings, though, I’d say the software is off to an amazing start.
