FinalWire’s AIDA64 has just reached version 2.00, and with it comes a slew of improvements, optimized benchmarks, and enhanced support for the latest PC hardware. A major improvement, albeit a simple one, is the introduction of an online update tool that will make updating to the latest version of the program a simple affair.
FinalWire’s AIDA 2.00
With lots of time to spare, FinalWire has added full detection support for Intel’s upcoming Sandy Bridge-E processors and related chipset, along with other current and future hardware (including Ivy Bridge). The included benchmarks have been reworked to take better advantage of AMD’s FX (Bulldozer) processors as well.
Also included is VMware Workstation 8 support, greater support for Western Digital hard drives (SMART, information detection, temperatures, et cetera), improved ACPI support and other miscellaneous updates that help keep AIDA64 as forward-looking as ever.
AIDA64, unlike some of its competitors, does not offer a free version. It does however have a trial version good for 30 days for those who want to take the program for a test-spin before committing to a purchase. More detailed information on what’s new with 2.00 can be seen at the URL below.
