Futuremark’s latest 3DMark iteration, 11, is right around the corner, and to help salivate fans, the company has just released a brand-new trailer called “High Temple”. As you’d expect, there’s heavy use of DirectX 11 techniques here, including tessellation. Though the trailer consists of a single area, there’s a lot of neat graphical eye candy to look out for, such as advance shadowing, depth-of-field and volumetric lighting.
Like every other 3DMark version ever to be released, 11 looks to push our current PCs to their breaking point, and hopefully, will continue to do so for the next couple of years. I’m not the biggest fan of synthetic benchmarks, which I’m sure is obvious to many of you, but 3DMark is still a fun one to run for the sake of it pushing PCs much harder than most games could hope to, and not to mention, it’s fun to see where graphics technologies could take us in the coming years.
To check out the trailer, you can simply view it below, but be sure to view full screen and to click the 720p or 1080p options if you want the full experience.
