GIGABYTE has taken advantage of the ongoing Blizzcon show to launch a brand-new motherboard, one that falls into its gamer line, “G1”. While two G1 Z87 boards have existed since the summer, the goal of G1 Sniper Z87 is to deliver a sub-$200 ATX board that caters to gamers and offers huge bang for the buck.
There’s not too much being said specs-wise about the board, and unfortunately, that image above is the largest we have at the moment, but one thing that does set this board apart from most is its attention to higher-end audio. For those who like swapping out OPAMPs, you can do that with the G1. Sniper Z87, and likewise, you can increase the gain merely by flicking a switch on the board.
Creative’s Sound Core3D audio solution is bundled here, similar to that found on the higher-end G1. Sniper 5 (which we’ll be posting a review of within the next week or so).
Overall, a sharp-looking board, and one that’s bound to be appealing to gamers all over thanks to its affordable $169 pricing. If our schedule allows it, we might just have to take a look at this board in the near-future, because this really does strike me as an attractive offering, from aesthetics to featureset to price tag.
