Continuing its good fight against DRM-infested games, GOG.com has today announced that it has “unchained” five great games from the grasp of their copy protection technologies. And I do mean “great” games. We’re talking Saints Row 2 and The Third, Metro Last Light Redux, as well as both Darksiders titles.
The least-expensive game of the bunch os Saints Row 2, costing a mere $4 ($10 regular), while its sequel, The Third, tacks on another dollar (it’s $15 regular). If you like games with a lot of action and some awesome humor, definitely check those out. Those who might be more in the hack-n-slash mood would do well to consider either of the Darksiders titles; the original costs $8 ($20 regular), while its sequel is $12 ($30 regular). Unfortunately, DS II‘s DLC isn’t included; that’s another $8 ($20 regular). Finally, Metro Last Light Redux is selling for $12.50 ($25 regular).
According to GOG.com’s Oleg Klapovsky, there should a lot more DRM-free goodness to come: “With today’s big-name DRM-free releases, and the impending The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt premiere, we anticipate even more major titles to follow suit.”
Let’s hope so.
