GOG.com Gains Lucasfilms Games As Latest Major Publisher To Be Offered On The Service

GOG.com has long offered a massive collection of classic computer games, but because there’s just so many that could be on the service, there are still many gaps despite the service having been around for six years. Well, the company has today filled one of the most noticeable voids, and that’s with some classic Lucasfilm titles. Truly, it’s hard to get more classic than Star Wars: TIE Fighter.

Star Wars: TIE Fighter Special Edition

Today, GOG.com has added these titles to its collection:

• Star Wars: X-Wing Special Edition – $9.99
• Star Wars: TIE Fighter Special Edition – $9.99
• Sam & Max Hit the Road – $5.99
• The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition – $9.99 (20% off)
• Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis – $5.99
• Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – $9.99 (20% off)

As far as I can tell, what makes the two top Star Wars titles “Special” is the number of extras that come with it, and also the fact that they work out-of-the-box on modern PCs – well, Windows, at least. Only the Sam & Max and Indiana Jones titles are available for Mac OS X and Linux, in addition to Windows.
