“It looks like San Andreas, but there’s something funny about it. Electricity pylons are casting thick tramline shadows across CJ’s back. The sun-baked concrete looks dirtier and rougher. The broken fences outside the run-down houses look more rotten, more ghetto. And what’s that? Are those the towering skyscrapers of downtown Los Santos visible in the distance?
A decent draw distance in a Grand Theft Auto game is a stunning thing in itself, but our first glimpse of San Andreas on PC goes way beyond that. It looks unbelievable.
It could be the fact that we’re holed up in Rockstar’s leather-clad gaming bunker, gazing at a three meter wide projection screen displaying the PC version in all its 1200 x 600 beauty. But seductive technology aside, this is what we always dreamed San Andreas would look like.”
