One of the best ways to get people to help beta test a new product or service is to bribe them, and GOG understands this well. With its Galaxy multiplayer service set to launch in the near-future, the company’s decided to give anyone willing to help test it out a free copy of the 2000 classic Aliens versus Predator. That’s “free” as in genuinely free; it’s yours to keep even after beta testing concludes.
I was never particularly a big fan of this game, but I still feel a little nostalgic when I think of it. Back when it was released, a friend of mine picked it up not long after his purchase of a brand-new Voodoo 3 graphics card. I vividly remember the feeling I got when I first saw the game in action. The graphics were simply fantastic, and in particular, I thought seeing little videos on in-game screens was one of the coolest things ever.
Well, it might be 2014, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t get that feeling of excitement with the game today, especially given the fact that AvP games tend to be pretty exciting to begin with (might I point you to our review of Alien: Isolation?).
To claim your free copy, head here. It’s worth noting that this giveaway happens at the same time GOG hits the 100 mark for Linux-supported games. A great day all-around.
