Our friends at Intel have sent word that the company’s DZ75ML-45K mainstream motherboard has recently gained support for a cool feature: Lucid Virtu MVP. Better still, it’ll support the upcoming version 2.0 (set to release in early 2013) right out of the gate.
Virtu MVP isn’t a technology we’ve talked about too much on the site, but it is a fairly interesting one. Combined with a capable motherboard and a CPU with built-in GPU, you can take advantage of the technology to improve gaming performance by reducing various latencies, enable a Vsync-like quality but still run games at over 60 FPS and take advantage of the most important feature: GPU Virtualization. This little bit of technology would allow you to use a discrete GPU but retain the ability to render things via QuickSync using the on-CPU GPU.
For those wanting to get hooked up with Virtu MVP right away, you can head straight on over to the download page to get started.
